David Trainor

Workers’ compensation, personal injury including motor vehicle accidents, public liability claims, medical negligence claims, seafarers’ compensation claims.
David leads our Personal Injury Division and is an Accredited Specialist in Personal Injury Law. He joined W. G. McNally & Co as a legal clerk when it was established in August 1977 and was admitted as a legal practitioner a year later. He has over 40 years’ experience in representing injured workers and members of the public who suffer injuries in work accidents and motor vehicle accidents. He has also represented many clients in claims involving public liability and medical or professional negligence and has successfully recovered substantial damages for them.
David was one of the first legal practitioners in Australia to obtain accreditation as a Specialist in Personal Injury Law in 1994. He is now recognised by the Law Society of NSW as an examiner of lawyers seeking accreditation as personal injury specialists.
David has conducted numerous cases involving claims arising from dust diseases, such as asbestosis and mesothelioma. He has particular expertise in relation to Comcare and Workers Compensation, and is one of the few lawyers who has experience in conducting Seafarer’s Compensation claims.
David is a member of the Law Society of NSW.
